Are you ready? What is the first thing you must do in order to start your business as a Freelance Writer in a Niche you've just selected? If you have experience in the nursing industry, doctor's, construction, webcopying, pet, accounting or any other industry you have a great advantage over others. You have the knowledge and expertise in these area and you can talk about it, write about and get others to listen to you. What I mean by that is that you already know their language, you know the types of customers, clients, patients you will be able to reach.
If you are new in the industry you are pursuing it's a little different but there is always a solution for that. You can start by ASKING???? Interviewing is one of the most successful ways to start by getting to know the businesses, the clients, the customers out there that will want to buy what you offer. Follow these simple steps and you will be on your way to starting your business on the right foot!
STEP ONE:
Create a List - create a list of people you would like to interview. If you want to be a B2B copywriter you must be aware that there are two different types of people and you must make a list for both.
Start communicating with CEOs, marketing managers, social media managers, assistant editors. You must understand what is it that motivates them from both the personal and professional standpoint.
You will want to know what are their challenges, hopes, victories, defeats?
What do they want personally?
More time to enjoy family?
More Money?
What about professionally what are they looking for?
Are they looking for promotions?
Are they looking for recognition?
Next type of people you want to communicate with or interview are the prospect's customers. Understanding them will help you become an indispensable part of the marketing team. They will want to continue eating from your hand...trust me on this!
What are their needs, wants, desires?
How is your prospect winning their loyalty or causing them to choose another solution?
What methods are you going to use to get to these two different types of people that you want them to become your clients?
Calling them on the phone/cell phone
Writing several emails

Interview them in person - This may sound old-fashioned but it is one of the best methods that you get quick and efficient results.
By performing these four methods you will be able to gain critical, up-to-the-moment information. Once you have gathered this information and knowledge you will be talking their langugage, lingo, ideas that will give them the confidence to believe in you, trust you. You will be known as the person that knows his/her Stuff!!
